M's mum arrived late last night from Cyprus - she is over for an interview for a 6 month contract position in some kind of healthcare management role. Obviously not that keen to stay retired then! She didn't arrive 'til very late due to getting stuck between 2 sets of fire doors at Heathrow. Apparently some people there were panicking despite the lack of a fire. Duh!
The Eva Solo self watering plant pot I ordered from Firebox arrived yesterday. It cost £17.40 including delivery. (Well it costs that if you redeem a £5 voucher from the HotUKDeals voucher list and click through to Firebox from QuidCo to start your order - thus getting another £1.50 back approx) Mand's friends had some in their kitchen to keep their basil and chives alive, and were singing its praises. If it keeps the basil alive this winter it'll be worth it!
It was curry Wednesday today at work - and I'm feeling decidedly full as a result - for once they didn't skimp on the portions. It was Lamb Rogan Josh so would've been rude not to go for it really.
