The Committee to Protect Bloggers is running its first campaign today to try and free Mojtaba Saminejad and Arash Sigarchi, two Iranian bloggers who are currently being detained by the authorities in Iran for publicising / speaking out against the arrests of other cyberjournalists and bloggers.

Bloggers worldwide are urged to provide exposure for the cause in their weblogs today (Tuesday, 22nd February 2005) in the hope that it will contribute towards getting them released.

The Iranian people deserve the right to freedom of expression and to a free, uncensored press. Let us hope that this campaign will in some way contribute towards them obtaining both.
