Katrina appears to be a growing tragedy :-(

Drove into HELL (New Orleans) last night... Sensitive types stay out

I hope and pray that the people affected can rebuild their lives and homes successfully, and my thoughts go out to those who have lost loved ones in the tragedy. It appears that most of the deaths have been in Mississippi (particular Harrison and Hancock) and Louisiana (mainly New Orleans). The confirmed death toll is already over 300, but many estimations are currently putting it far higher.

New Orleans is certainly the most vibrant and interesting place I have ever had the fortune to visit in the USA, with friendly people, great food, awesome music and spectacular parades. It would be a tragedy if it cannot get back to that.
